The UCLA Bruins have found themselves in the middle of some quarterback recruiting battles. Not only are the Bruins tempting Ohio State commit Brady Edmunds, UCLA is offering some younger QB recruits to head to Westwood.
UCLA has offered Class of 2028 quarterback Titus Huard from Valor Christina High School in Colorado and Class of 2030 QB Brooks Herman from Huntington Beach, California. Nico Iamaleava will be UCLA’s starting quarterback for 2026, but beyond that, the quarterback position is a mystery for Bob Chesney and the Bruins.

UCLA has other quarterbacks on their roster, including Nico’s younger brother Madden Iamaleava, but Chesney hasn’t brought in any QB recruits since taking over the Bruins head coaching job back in December. Either Edmonds, Huard or Herman would change that.
After a visit this past weekend, UCLA fans may be a bit familiar with Edmonds but Huard is an elite quarterback recruit in his own right. 247 Sports has the 6’5” QB as the No. 11 quarterback in the 2028 class. UCLA joins Arkansas, Oregon and Washington as schools that have already offered Huard.
Both Edmonds and Huard are four-star recruits according to 247 Sports, with Herman being not yet ranked, as he’s set to enter his freshman season this fall. Both Edmonds and Herman are from Huntington Beach, with the Bruins looking locally for their quarterback of the future. Both could be an option for UCLA, with Edmonds potentially having two seasons in Westwood before Herman even arrives on campus if they both were to commit to the Bruins.

We’ve seen experienced quarterbacks from the transfer portal become game-changing players in college football since the start of the NIL era, but UCLA is still investing in bringing in young, talented options at quarterback.
