The Oklahoma Sooners have one of the more talented rosters in college football heading into the 2026 season. On the heels of a College Football Playoff appearance, the Sooners hope to find their way back to the playoff. Two of the most important pieces from last year’s 10-win team, David Stone and Tate Sandell, were named to the Walter Camp Preseason All-American team.
Stone is one of the most notable names heading into the season, already being projected as a first-round NFL Draft pick in 2027 and ranked as the No. 1 defensive tackle in EA Sports College Football 27, set for an early release on July 2. He’s expected to build off of a season that saw him lead Oklahoma’s defense in pass rush snaps and finish among the team leaders in total pressures. Stone earned second-team honors.

Sandell was instrumental to Oklahoma’s run to the College Football Playoff with a huge month of November. He won the Lou Groza Award given to the nation’s best kicker, hitting 24 of his 27 attempts, including an incredible 8 of 9 from 50+ yards. After missing his first field goal of the season, Sandell went on to hit 23 straight to end the regular season. Sandell was 7-for-7 on field goals in upset wins over Tennessee and Alabama to kickstart the Sooners’ 4-0 final month of the season to earn a playoff berth. Sandell was named to the first team.
Though he missed two late attempts in the College Football Playoff loss to Alabama, a game where little went right for the Sooners after going up 17-0, Sandell proved to be one of the best kickers in college football after transferring from UTEP last offseason.
Sooners like Peyton Bowen, Kip Lewis, Courtland Guillory, Eli Bowen, Jayden Jackson, Taylor Wein, Isaiah Sategna, and Michael Fasusi weren’t included but could be names to watch for postseason All-America honors in 2026.
