It won’t be for the national title, and there won’t be any Zach Edey, Stephon Castle, Donovan Clingan or Cam Spencer on the court.
But UConn and Purdue will face each other again this coming season.

The Huskies will host the Boilermakers for a preseason exhibition game on Tuesday, Oct. 27, UConn announced Wednesday. Time, venue and ticket information has not yet been released.
The game will mark Purdue’s first trip to UConn in almost 30 years. The Huskies are 2-4 all-time against Purdue, though they’re 2-0 in the NCAA Tournament, beating the Boilermakers in the ’09 Sweet 16 and for the 2024 national title.
The game is the second announced preseason exhibition for the men’s basketball team ahead of the 2026-27 season. The Huskies will also visit Michigan State to wrap up a home-and-home exhibition series that began with a UConn win in Hartford last season.
