Video, poll: Is rare Suloev stretch automatically UFC Baku’s best finish?

Ordinarily, if you bring a knockout in the single digits, time-wise, to the conversation about best finishes, it’s a slam dunk.

But that’s not the case after UFC Baku on Saturday. At National Gymnastics Arena in Azerbaijan, Abdul Rakhman Yakhyaev (10-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) delivered an 8-second KO of Julius Walker (7-3 MMA, 1-3 UFC). Then Asu Almabayev (24-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) decided to force Charles Johnson (19-9 MMA, 8-6 UFC) to tap to just the fourth Suloev stretch in UFC history.

It’s a truly tough call, indeed, between those two – and there were others in the mix that ordinarily would’ve stood a chance as the event’s best finish.

UFC Fight Night 280 had nine stoppages in 13 fights. But not all finishes are created equal. Check out the stoppages in the video above. Then vote for which one was your favorite in our poll below.
