One of the most improbable fights in MMA history could be the most watched ever when UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey takes on fellow women’s MMA pioneer Gina Carano. Their five-round featherweight fight headlines MVP MMA 1 on Saturday, May 16 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif.
It’ll be the first time in nearly a decade that Rousey will compete in MMA after finishing her UFC tenure with back-to-back losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. For Carano, it’s been even longer as she hasn’t competed in MMA in nearly 17 years ago when she suffered the only loss of her career to Cris Cyborg under the Strikeforce banner.

Since the fight was announced in February, the vibes have been high between Rousey and Carano as they’ve shown nothing but respect to each other. But with fight night upon us, the time for pleasantries is over.
