The Florida Gators sit at No. 6 on the NFCA Coaches Poll heading into the final weekend series of the year against No. 17 Georgia.
While the SEC Tournament remains as well, it’s time to start thinking about where Florida stands in the NCAA Tournament bracket, and the Gators are in line to host a regional once again. There’s also an outside chance the Gators do enough to snag the top overall seed, but that would require a strong run in Lexington.

In USA TODAY Sports’ latest playoff predictions, Florida sits at No. 7, which makes the Orange and Blue a super regional host. However, there’s a good chance for “some variance” with Florida’s seeding, thanks to the Gators holding the top spot in the NCAA and D1Softball RPI rankings. Let’s not forget that Florida has the second-best conference record in SEC play, too.
Right now, USA TODAY has five SEC teams ahead of Florida in the regional host predictions. The Oklahoma Sooners, Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas Longhorns, Tennessee Volunteers and Arkansas Razorbacks take up the Nos. 1-5 spots, in that order. Winning the conference tournament could easily vault the Gators into the mix there.

On the outside looking in: Mississippi State (36-15), Stanford (34-12), Arizona (34-13), UCF (36-14), Virginia Tech (41-9).
