Davion Thompson has generated quite the buzz after he shared details about his commitment. The 6-foot-2 four-star prospect has narrowed down his commitment decision to four schools.
On June 10, he will announce who he chose among Arkansas, Baylor, Michigan and Vanderbilt. He visited the Commodores earlier this month and has previously visited Arkansas and Michigan. Moreover, Thompson has also received offers from Texas Tech, Kansas, Missouri, NC State, Oregon, Oklahoma, Ohio State, DePaul, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, and others.

Where Will Davion Thompson Commit?
At this moment, Vanderbilt appears to have the strongest momentum.
According to On3, the Commodores lead all programs with 36.6% chance to secure his commitment. Kansas is just behind with 31%, followed by Arkansas, Ohio State and Indiana.
With Vanderbilt, the Bolingbrook, Illinois native would be a centerpiece prospect rather than just another name in a loaded blue-blood backcourt. As a result, they are an appealing destination.
Meanwhile, Kansas is one program that can snatch the top-25 overall recruit away from Vanderbilt. The Jayhawks have historically produced NBA-ready level backcourt players, which could make the Link Academy star think twice before he reaches a decision.

Arkansas can be a dark horse in this recruitment. The guard has a genuine interest as he took a visit to Fayetteville. Their history of letting guards play with free minds can make them an attractive alternative for Thompson to consider.
That said, Michigan and Baylor are also serious players, but at the moment, they are losing ground in his recruitment. Still, they’ve got over 10 days to take a lead in his recruitment.
Thompson recently expressed what he is looking for that will help him make his recruitment decision.
“Just a coach that’s going to believe in me, let me play through my mistakes, and push me to get to the next level,” said Thompson. “My main goal is to get to the NBA and play in the NBA, so I’m trying to find the place that believes in me and feels like home.”

Thompson averaged 21.7 points (52% from three-point range), 4.4 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game this spring on the EYBL Circuit with Meanstreets. The No. 22 overall player in the 2027 class will play next week at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup and was recently selected to the USA Basketball U18 National Team.
