Wisconsin Badgers pushing to complete another massive 2027 commitment flip

The Wisconsin Badgers’ staff has been on a tear in the recruiting department recently and another potential commitment could be coming.

The staff has been working diligently this off-season to build a substantial 2027 class after stringing together limited success in the previous classes since hiring Head Coach Luke Fickell. A new college landscape and the introduction of NIL deals has made both retention and recruiting difficult tasks. Wisconsin endured some of the new-found struggles last cycle when top commitments Amari Latimer and Jayden Petit jumped ship towards signing day.

Wisconsin already has a stacked class to show in the 2027 cycle with seven four-star prospects and nine in-state recruits. Leading the charge is Germantown (Wis.) offensive tackle Cole Reiter, the top ranked in-state prospect in the class. The Badgers just added the 179th ranked recruit in Mekhi Williams who was recently a Florida State commitment.

The Badgers will now look to try to complete another commitment flip after the successful push for Williams. Composite four-star Louisville commitment Charles “Chuck” Alexander will take an Official Visit with Wisconsin on June 12th.

Alexander is one of the top commitments the Cardinals currently have locked down and the wide receiver has been committed to the program since November. The receiver picked up a scholarship from Wisconsin in May of 2025, a month after Louisville did so. Alexander committed to the Cardinals after witnessing the 41-0 beat down of Kentucky last season.

On the field, Alexander is both a versatile and physical receiver who balances his strength and speed to create a difficult target to stop. The receiver can make impressive plays in the air but does the most damage on the field with his feet. The fluid movements, great route running skills, and technical ability of Alexander set him apart from other receivers.

For the Wisconsin Badgers, completing the flip of Alexander would be a big pickup during official visits on the heels of another strong commitment. The Wisconsin Badgers’ staff locked down four-star athlete Jai Jones during his recent Official Visit and the staff will have Jones play receiver. Bringing in commitments from two four-star receivers would be a notable event for both the staff and the program as a whole.
