Kyle Whittingham’s first spring camp at Michigan’s will come to an end Saturday following the annual spring game. This weekend will also put a lid to a highly-publicized and momentum shifting visit period in which dozens of top prospects from multiple classes were on campus to see the environment under a new administration.
Saturday will be no different with several key targets expected to be in attendance. Maize n Brew breaks down where Michigan stands with the five most important visitors.

2027 four-star edge rusher Jayce Brewer
-
247Sports Rankings: No. 39 edge, No. 10 in Indiana
-
Rivals Rankings: No. 173 Overall, No. 17 edge, No. 5 in Indiana
-
Michigan Visits: 3/21/26, 4/18/26, 6/19/26 (OV)
The Skinny: On3’s Ethan McDowell reported Brewer will make his second visit to Michigan in a span of four weeks. U-M is a top contender for Brewer, who has developed a tight-knit bond with Whittingham, defensive tackles coach Larry Black, defensive ends coach Lewis Powell and defensive coordinator Jay Hill. Brewer told McDowell following the March visit “all of my questions got answered.” That’s good to hear considering Indiana, Tennessee and others are making Brewer just as big of a focus as Michigan is. For Brewer to come back for the spring game is only positive in Michigan’s chances, as the team will see him again during Victor Weekend on his official visit.
2027 four-star DB Tavares Harrington
-
School: Chicago (Ill.) Mt. Carmel
-
247Sports Rankings: No. 188 Overall, No. 25 Safety, No. 10 in Illinois
-
Rivals Rankings: No. 129 Overall, No. 8 Safety, No. 8 in Illinois
-
Michigan Visits: 3/19-3/21/26, 4/18/26
The Skinny: Harrington is the most recent addition on this list who, per McDowell, will take in his first game-like atmosphere at Michigan this weekend. It’s important to note he was last on campus for a multi-day visit in March. It’s also worth mentioning he has a 2027 teammate committed to Michigan in fellow safety Darrell Mattison. Harrington has yet to schedule an official to Ann Arbor and so far has locked in Ole Miss (June 5), Nebrasak (June 12), and Alabama (June 19), but a positive return this weekend could change things. Notre Dame is a major choice as well for Harrington.

2027 four-star S Isala Wily-Ava
-
School: Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco
-
247Sports Rankings: No. 43 Safety, No. 35 in California
-
Rivals Rankings: No. 33 Safety, No. 32 in California
-
Other Notable Offers: Washington, Arizona State, USC, Ohio State, Texas
-
Michigan Visits: 4/18/26, 6/19/26
The Skinny: Wily-Ava has been fairly vocal about the schools that have separated themselves from the rest of the pack — Arizona State and Washington. But that’s before he makes the flight out to Michigan for the spring game and then for his official visit during Victor’s Weekend. His West Coast ties have resulted in him knowing most of the new Michigan staff during their time at Utah. It’s not far-fetched to believe that the Wolverines assert themselves next to ASU and Washington as a bonafide favorite for Wily-Ava after the spring game.
2027 three-star S Peyton Higginson
-
School: Salem (Utah) Hills
-
247Sports Rankings: No. 71 Safety, No. 7 in Utah
-
Rivals Rankings: No. 26 Safety, No. 9 in Utah
-
Other Notable Offers: BYU, Purdue, Utah, Cal, Boise State
-
Michigan Visits: 4/18/25, 5/29/26 (OV)
The Skinny: Michigan has been one of the “most active” schools in Higginson’s recruitment this offseason. That’s what he told Rivals at the end of March when he also confirmed an official visit to Michigan the weekend of May 29. BYU will get the last opportunity to host him on an official before the summer dead period gets underway. Most of Higginson’s interests stem out west, but the Wolverines are a legit contender. For a Utah native like Higginson, it helps Michigan’s cause in having four-star quarterback Kamden Lopati, who committed on Tuesday and a fellow Ute, be in the class to help safeties coach John Stockton. This weekend will be his first time in Ann Arbor.

2027 three-star S Elijah Butler
-
School: Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy
-
247Sports Rankings: No. 36 Safety, No. 11 in Maryland
-
Rivals Rankings: No. 46 Safety, No. 9 in Maryland
-
Michigan Visits: 4/17-4/19/26
The Skinny: Victor’s Weekend is open for Butler to schedule a Michigan official visit, as he’ll be at Auburn (May 29), Virginia Tech (June 5) and Florida (June 11) on officials. But it’s not a guarantee the Wolverines make the cut following his three-day trip to Ann Arbor that began Thursday, so it’s imperative this weekend goes off without a hitch. That’s how the Gators entered the mix swiftly, as they brought in Butler to Gainesville earlier this month and got the official locked in. Michigan has had success recruiting out of the DMV juggernaut in recent cycles, so that could play a factor in pitching Butler.
