A couple of projected NBA lottery picks linked up for a workout on their offensive games, causing onlookers to gauge their skillsets in terms of how it looks and how they will be effective in the league. On Thursday, May 21, a video on X/Twitter has gone viral that shows BYU Cougars forward AJ Dybantsa and Tennessee Volunteers swingman Nate Ament in a skills training session together.
The video shows the two lengthy wings working out with skills coach Zach Gonzales. Both are expected to make a splash with whichever NBA team drafts them. To make sure that happens, Dybantsa and Ament seemingly continue to work on refining their own crafts. This can be seen with their catch-and-shoot drills beyond the three-point arc, and working on their mid-range in different spots.
Basketball fans and spectators dropped their takes on Dybantsa’s game, particularly on how effective his jump shot looks.

“AJ’s jump shot looks like it hurts,” one fan claimed.
“His jump shot looks so fluid but he can’t shoot in games. Make it make sense,” another fan pointed out.
“Is AJ’s three-point release lower in this than normal? Or, am I just seeing things? Middy looks the same,” another user questioned.
“Oh no, AJ’s shot release is on his chin. That sh*t gonna get blocked by Sam Merrill ☠️,” a fan wrote mentioning Cleveland Cavaliers guard Sam Merrill with an emoji.
Other users all over X/Twitter are becoming adorers of Ament with how smooth his offensive skillset looked in the video.
“Not a fan of Ament, but his movements look very smooth and effortless. AJ’s movements look kind of weird,” one fan said.

“Ament has serious upside. If he reaches his potential, whoever drafts him will be drafting a top 4 player in this draft,” another fan posted.
“Ament has the tools but he has to play with more aggression and confidence,” a fan shared.
Both Dybantsa and Ament are vying to get picked into the NBA during the 2026 draft on June 23 – 24. They spent only one year of college basketball with their respective teams and led them to their own national tournament berths. Dybantsa and the rest of coach Kevin Young’s Cougars were bounced in the first round, while Ament and the Volunteers made it to the Elite Eight.
