The UConn women’s program has reached back into the international market to land its latest recruit.
Marine Dursus, a 5-foot-9 shooting guard from France, announced her commitment to join the Huskies Friday morning via Instagram. “Taking the next step … See you at UConn,” she wrote.

Dursus, 20, is currently playing for Angers Basket, a French pro team, averaging 9.9 points per game. Her French under-20 team won the Euro Championship in 2024, as she scored 17 in the final game. During ’25, she averaged 13.8 points, 4.2 rebounds for her team in EuroBasket.

The Huskies have brought in a number of players with European or international ties in recent years, including Nika Muhl, Dorka Jushasz, Lou Lopez-Senechal, Jana El Alfy and Blanca Quinonez, the latter two still on the team.
Coach Geno Auriemma lost starters Azzi Fudd and Serah Williams to the WNBA after the Huskies were defeated in the Final Four by South Carolina last month, but did not identify a “game-changer” in the transfer portal. Earlier this week, a center he had recruited, Eve Long of Kansas, chose Notre Dame over the Huskies and national champ UCLA. UConn does not yet have a 2027 high school commitment.

Incoming freshmen for UConn include center Olivia Vukosa, from Croatia, who played at Christ The King in New York, and guard Jovana Popovic from Serbia. In recent years, Auriemma has leaned more heavily into the international recruiting scene, noting players are more experienced against high level competition, fundamentally sound and fit well into his style of play.
