Tom Brady increasing involvement and presence with Las Vegas Raiders during OTAs

by

Last season was the first full year that Tom Brady was a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, as his purchase of a minority stake in the organization was approved in mid-October 2024, and his involvement with the Raiders was a hot topic of discussion during the 2025 campaign.

Some felt that Brady becoming an owner created a conflict of interest with his other job as a color commentator for the main team on FOX’s NFL broadcasts, while others questioned his commitment to the Silver and Black since he wasn’t in the building every day or very much during the season. In fact, a report suggested his long-time trainer and business partner, Alex Guerrero, was serving as the owner’s eyes and ears within the organization.

However, OTAs are underway in Las Vegas, and Brady has been more present, recently being spotted at practice. On top of that, a handful of coaches and players weighed in on the minority owner’s involvement with the team and how he’s been a resource so far.

“He’s definitely been around more, and I mean, he’s a resource anytime we need him. It’s really good to have that kind of guy around. I mean, the G.O.A.T. So, it’s great to have him around and be available with any question we have.” — Tight end Brock Bowers

“I haven’t had really any conversation with Tom, but obviously he’s the G.O.A.T. So, to have a guy like that in the building, I’m sure the quarterbacks are using him a lot too, just what they see and how he can help out. But having a mind like that in the building is nice to have.” — Center Tyler Linderbaum

“Tom is an unbelievable resource for us. He’s been very open, he’s somebody that we can pick up the phone and call, or you see him around the building. He’s the greatest of all time, so getting to be around him every day and any knowledge that you can pick up from him, just a great resource to have, and something that it’s very appealing sitting in my chair.” — Offensive coordinator Andrew Janocko

Additionally, Brady played a role in the Raiders’ head coach search this offseason, helping land Klint Kubiak. So, it certainly seems as if the seven-time Super Bowl Champ is taking a much more hands-on approach during his second year as an owner.

  • Where does Malcolm Koonce fit?: “Expect Koonce’s usage to mirror Maxx Crosby, another hands-in-the-dirt type that will be moved around the alignment to maximize both chaos and output,” via S&BP’s Ray Aspuria. “Pre-ACL tear, Koonce exhibited an explosive first step that paired with Crosby’s own electric movement to create a pincer-type pass rush: Get away from Crosby, Koonce was there hunting, too. And vice versa.”
