by

The USA dominated the team competitions at the Tlaxcala 2026 Pan American Championships, winning three of the four team categories available.

The USA took the Pan Am team titles in recurve men, beating Colombia in the gold medal match, recurve women (beating Mexico) and compound men (beating Colombia).

The women’s win was a title defence from the 2024 Pan American Championships, and achieved by exactly the same trio of Casey Kaufhold, Jennifer Mucino, and Catalina Gnoriega

In compound women’s team, the powerhouse Mexican team took gold, also at the expense of Colombia, with the USA in third.

The team finals took place early in the competition as they were the main qualifiers for the 2027 Lima Pan American Games.

The recurve quota places for Lima were awarded to the top five teams in each gender. For recurve men: they were USA, Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Brazil. For recurve women: USA, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Guatemala. All were awarded three spots each.

An additional three recurve individual places were awarded at a secondary tournament on Thursday for nations that had not already qualified. For recurve men: Cuba, Canada, and El Salvador won spots. For recurve women: Canada, Argentina and Venezuela. All six nations receive an individual spot each.

In compound, teams of two will compete at the Lima Games. The top four compound nations in each gender here received two spots each. For compound men, this was USA, Colombia, Mexico and Guatemala. For compound women: Mexico, Colombia, USA and Puerto Rico

Again, a secondary tournament was held with one spot each available in compound men and compound women: both the men‘s and women’s spots were won by El Salvador

The competition continues with individual eliminations on Friday, followed by mixed team and barebow finals on Saturday. You can watch the weekend’s finals with a subscription to archery+
