The newest Jayhawk weapon has been named to a major watch list ahead of the 2026 season.

On Wednesday, transfer wide receiver Nik McMillan was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list. He was one of 45 players listed for the award, given annually to college football’s top wide receiver.

McMillan transferred to Kansas after spending the first three years of his career at Buffalo.

After playing in just three games as a sophomore, McMillan started all 12 games in 2025. He finished with 62 catches for 981 yards and three touchdowns. He was named First Team All-MAC.

In his career, McMillan has caught 80 passes for 1,237 yards and five touchdowns.

The Jayhawks had a leg up when recruiting McMillan because it was not the first time. The wideout remembered the Kansas staff from the first time around and this helped get him to Lawrence in 2026.

“It helped a lot, because it was kind of like I knew who they were already,” McMillan said. “It was familiar faces, familiar people I talked to. So it was a kind of easy process in the portal. KU was like one of the first schools to text me; it was kind of a no-brainer.”
