Oh Lord! Yair Rodriguez bails on Noche UFC 4 main event against Jean Silva

by

Bummer.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim Featherweight champion and title challenger Yair Rodriguez was scheduled to headline Noche UFC 4 against top contender Jean Silva next month (Sat., Sept. 12, 2026) inside Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

Unfortunately, that is no longer happening.

Rodriguez has withdrawn from the fight, according to Ag.Fight. The reason behind his withdrawal has not yet been publicly disclosed.

With a little more than three weeks remaining until fight night, sources have told MMAmania.com that promotion officials are searching for a new opponent to keep Silva on the card.

That means UFC must find a Featherweight willing to face one of the division’s most dangerous fighters in a five-round main event on short notice.

Silva (17-3) is coming off a statement win over Arnold Allen at UFC 324, which returned him to the win column and placed him right back into the Featherweight title conversation.

That victory followed Silva’s first Octagon loss, a second-round knockout against Diego Lopes in Noche UFC 3’s main event.

Since rebounding against Allen, Silva has been loudly campaigning for a shot at champion Alexander Volkanovski—even going so far as to say he would leave the promotion if he lost a potential title fight.

Rodriguez (20-5) has been out of the Octagon for 16 months and has been incredibly inactive, competing just four times since July 2022.

“El Pantera” was last in action against Patricio Pitbull, defeating him via unanimous decision at UFC 314. The victory snapped a two-fight losing streak that included defeats to Brian Ortega and Volkanovski.

Rodriguez’s withdrawal now leaves Noche UFC 4 without its Mexican headliner and Silva waiting for another opponent.
