Caitlin Clark had a rough outing on Thursday against the Dallas Wings. The Indiana Fever superstar’s streak of scoring 20 points ended at six games as she managed only 10 against Dallas. Clark shot a measly 4-for-15. She couldn’t get to her spots as well, with Awak Kuier hosting a block party under the Wings’ basket.
Kuier had seven blocks on the night, a franchise record for the Wings. One of those came against Clark. Shortly before that, Fever coach Stephanie White tried to give Clark advice in the first quarter, but the Indiana star walked to her seat midway through the conversation.

Five minutes later, with Kuier’s feet not set, Clark chose not to take the 3-point shot but instead dribbled and drove to the basket, where her shot was blocked. White dropped her shoulders in frustration. Here’s the clip of these incidents:
A lot has been made of their relationship this season, so this video further fueled speculation about their dynamic. Caitlin Clark and Stephanie White also had a viral argument on May 30 during a game against the Fire. The duo had a heated conversation during a timeout that ended with White replacing Clark with Raven Johnson in the lineup.
Caitlin Clark and Fever blow crucial win as tough schedule awaits
Caitlin Clark and the Fever lost Thursday’s game 91-85. The Wings were coming off a 2-9 record after the All-Star break. Without Azzi Fudd, who is out for the season, they were as vulnerable as any team in the bottom half of the standings.

Indiana was at full strength and even started the game well. However, as the game progressed, it slipped away from the Fever’s grasp. They couldn’t get timely stops or make shots when it mattered.
Clark, in particular, was disappointing with an off night on the road. The Fever have to play the New York Liberty on Saturday in less than 48 hours, before taking on the Chicago Sky on Sunday, the second night of a back-to-back that is also on the road.
With no breaks and constant travel, the Fever were likely to drop at least one of those two games during this three-game road trip. Now they’re staring at the possibility of going 1-2 instead of 2-1 after losing Thursday’s game at Dallas.
Indiana is fighting for a top-three or even top-two spot in the standings, so every result matters, especially with other teams breathing down its neck. The Las Vegas Aces have the same record as them (24-13) in fourth place, while the Atlanta Dream are 22-13 in fifth place.

Indiana holds tie-breakers over both teams, so it’s safe for now, but one or two more losses could change things significantly.
