Freshman Faizon Brandon was named Tennessee’s starting quarterback for the Vols’ season opener against Furman at Neyland Stadium.
Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. EDT on Sept. 5 and can be watched on SEC Network+.

Brandon committed to Tennessee on Aug. 3, 2024 over Alabama, LSU and North Carolina State. He signed with the Vols on Dec. 3, 2025 and enrolled at Tennessee in January. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound quarterback participated in spring practices.
He was a five-star prospect from Grimsley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. The signal-caller was Tennessee’s first 2026 commitment before his junior high school season.
