BYU basketball fans might be a little down after AJ Dybantsa and Richie Saunders left for the NBA, but if Friday night was any indication, the Cougars still have more than enough scoring punch on their roster.
BYU guard Robert Wright III lit up the scoreboard in a Pro-Am Powder League contest, scoring 101 points. While the level of competition might not stack up to what Wright III is used to facing in the Big 12, it’s still a noteworthy offensive outburst.

Cougars head coach Kevin Young thinks the sky is the limit for Wright III, as he articulated to Sports Illustrated last month.
“I enjoy coaching Rob. He’s a great young man,” Young said. “I think he’s going to be the best point guard in college basketball as we enter this next season. With his experience, I really was impressed with his level of improvement from his freshman year to his sophomore year, particularly in our style of play.”
Wright III entered the transfer portal this spring but ultimately decided to run it back at BYU for another campaign.
