Cowboys tight end Princeton Fant, who was carted off from Monday’s practice, will miss the season with a left knee injury.
Fant tore his anterior cruciate ligament and partially tore his medial collateral ligament and will undergo surgery in the next couple of weeks, head coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday.

Fant injured his knee when he was blocked backward into running back Israel Abanikanda during the Cowboys’ first full-pads practice Monday.
Fant signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee in 2023. He has appeared in 11 games in three seasons, playing mostly on special teams.
The Cowboys also have Jake Ferguson, Brevyn Spann-Ford and Luke Schoonmaker at the position.
