Kelsey Plum suffered an ankle sprain this Tuesday afternoon, and she’s set to undergo an evaluation in one week. She will be off the court for at least this period. ESPN’s Alexa Philippou reported the development through her X account. The Los Angeles Spark player is currently leading the league in points per game, averaging 26.8.
Plum is widely considered one of the top players in the WNBA and is a two-time WNBA Champion (2022, 2023). Both titles she won with her previous team, the San Antonio Stars/Las Vegas Aces. She first joined the WNBA in 2017, when she was the first overall pick by the then San Antonio Stars in the WNBA Draft.

She has also played three seasons in the Turkish Super League, first with Fenerbahce, then with Galatasaray. She won two Turkish Super League titles (2018, 2019) and one Turkish Cup (2019) during her offseason European escapades.
Kelsey Plum has been incredibly healthy in the last four seasons, missing only four games across that time.
How did Kelsey Plum end up with the Los Angeles Sparks?
Plum moved to the Los Angeles Sparks in January of last year, when she was involved in a three-way trade between the Sparks, the Seattle Storm, and the Las Vegas Aces. The Aces received guard Jewell Loyd from the Seattle Storm in exchange for Plum, whom they traded for the No. 2 overall pick and Li Yueru from Los Angeles. They also got a first-round pick from Las Vegas. Los Angeles landed Plum, along with the No. 9 overall draft pick and a second-round pick.
