LSU football missed on a five-star linebacker as the Tigers finally got a heat check on the recruiting trail. On Thursday, Kaden Henderson committed to Texas A&M, picking the Aggies over LSU and several Power Four programs.
Henderson’s pledge to A&M was expected. Mike Elko and staff had the momentum in the final days of the recruitment and most projections had the Aggies as the landing spot.

Per the Rivals Industry Rankings, Henderson is the No. 1-ranked linebacker in the 2027 recruiting class. He’s the No. 26 overall player and No. 4 in the state of Florida. This was an impressive coup from the Aggies — going into Florida to land a player of this caliber.
Despite the miss, LSU’s 2027 recruiting class still ranks No. 9 in the nation. LSU has 13 commitments, including 10 blue-chips players. Lane Kiffin and Co. expect to ink one of the best classes in the country.
