Riley Ceglowski Hired as Head coach of Alaska Fairbanks

Riley Ceglowski was named head coach of the Alaska Fairbanks swimming and diving team this week.

Ceglowski had previously been a head coach at Ave Maria University in Florida and Adams State University in Colorado. She spent the last year as the aquatics coordinator for the city of Fruita in Colorado.

“I am incredibly honored to lead the Alaska Nanooks swim team and to build upon the strong foundation already in place,” Ceglowski said in a team statement. “My goal is to foster a culture of excellence, both in the pool and in the classroom, that will challenge our student-athletes to redefine their limits. My hope is that each Nanook swimmer graduates having reached their full potential as a student-athlete, while contributing to the legacy of the program. Go Nanooks!”

Ceglowski replaces Logan Indest, the acting head coach since the departure of Ksenia Gromova. She will take the job on July 1.

Ceglowski swam at Adams State, graduating in 2018 with a degree in physical geography and earth science. She added a master’s degree in nutrition and human performance from Logan University in 2024.

She began coaching at Classic Running in Colorado, working with triathletes primarily. She returned to her alma mater for three years, as an assistant to the men’s and women’s programs from 2018 to 2020 before a year as the head coach. She left to spend one season as the head coach Ave Maria through August 2022.

“We’re excited to welcome Riley Ceglowski as the next head coach of our Alaska Nanooks women’s swimming program,” Director of Athletics Brock Anundson said. “Riley brings a strong background with NCAA swimmers, both as a student-athlete and a coach, along with a clear passion for student-athlete development. She joins a program that saw impressive success in the pool this past year, and her energy, experience, and leadership will help build on that momentum and take Alaska swimming to the next level.”

The Nanooks placed fifth at the Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference Championships, their best finish in 12 years. Junior Dorka Dancsok qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships.
