Just when the Azerbaijan crowd was at its loudest for Nazim Sadykhov at UFC Fight Night 280, Matheus Camilo quieted everyone.
Camilo (11-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) dropped Sadykhov (11-3-1 MMA, 4-2-1 UFC) with a stiff right punch in the opening round of the lightweight featured bout at National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, then pounced with a flurry of strikes on the ground that forced the referee to jump at the 1:34 mark of Round 1.

Sadykhov immediately jumped up and protested the stoppage, but the referee stood by his decision, much to the anger and shock of the crowd.

After the fight, Camilo revelled in the glory of his moment and shut down any complaints of an early stoppage.
“We train everything and ready for everything,” Camilo said in his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping. “I think it was clean shots and he didn’t have movement. I think it was a very good stoppage. Thanks so much to Nazim. Great respect for him.”
