Caitlin Clark produced another record-breaking performance Tuesday night, but one audacious shot over the tallest player in the WNBA became the highlight everyone wanted to see again. The Indiana Fever star buried a step-back 3-pointer over 6-foot-11 New York Liberty center Han Xu during Indiana’s 106-92 victory. Although Han used every inch of her enormous frame to challenge the attempt, Clark still created enough separation and sent the ball soaring beyond the outstretched defender.

The Fever later released a slow-motion replay of the shot, offering a new look at just how difficult it was.
“And with that, goodnight,” Indiana wrote alongside the video.

The memorable sequence unfolded with 7:43 remaining in the second quarter and the Fever leading 29-25. Clark controlled the ball near the top of the arc as Han stepped outside to defend her. The 6-foot guard used a quick dribble to move to her left before abruptly stopping and stepping back behind the 3-point line.
Han recovered and extended her right arm toward Clark’s shooting hand, but it did not matter. Clark released a high-arcing attempt that sailed over Han and dropped cleanly through the net, extending Indiana’s advantage to seven points. The slow-motion replay showed Han getting close to the ball despite the separation Clark created. It also captured Clark smoothly falling backward before turning and running down the court.

The shot was only one part of another impressive night for Clark. She finished with 22 points and 10 assists while shooting 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. She committed only four turnovers despite frequently controlling Indiana’s offense against the defending WNBA champions.

Clark makes more WNBA history in Fever win
Clark’s double-double gave her nine games with at least 20 points and 10 assists this season, extending her WNBA single-season record. It was also the 29th double-double of her young career. According to the Fever, that total is already the third-most by a guard in league history. Clark needed only 82 games to reach that mark.

Her production helped Indiana secure one of its most impressive victories of the season. The Fever scored 106 points against a Liberty team loaded with championship experience, earning another statement win as they continue building momentum. Clark’s ability to dictate games as both a scorer and facilitator has become familiar, but she continues to produce moments that demand attention. Tuesday’s 3-pointer was one of them.
There are few defenders in the WNBA capable of matching Han’s combination of size and length. Clark still found a way to create a clean look and convert it. The Fever’s slow-motion replay only made the degree of difficulty more apparent. Han was significantly taller, contested the shot and nearly reached the ball, but Clark’s footwork and release made all of it irrelevant.
It was the kind of fearless play that has helped turn Clark into one of basketball’s biggest attractions, and the latest reminder that even a 6-foot-11 defender may not be enough to bother her shot.
