Georgia has a manageable path to return to the SEC championship. The Bulldogs and the rest of the SEC will be navigating a nine-game conference schedule for the first time in SEC history. Georgia has 12 preseason All-SEC players and should have the pieces to return to the College Football Playoff.
The media predicts Georgia to win the SEC despite the Bulldogs’ recent playoff struggles. According to betting odds, Georgia is not the preseason SEC favorite. Texas has a narrow edge over Georgia in that regard.
Voters clearly view Georgia and Texas as the two-best teams. Behind Georgia and Texas, voters closely grouped together Ole Miss, Texas A&M, LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma with under 100 points separating those five teams.
