Caitlin Clark made a pair of crucial mistakes on Thursday night, missing two free throws with seven seconds left in regulation and turning the ball over late in overtime in Indiana’s 86-84 loss to the visiting Las Vegas Aces. Kelsey Mitchell scored 28 points for the Fever, whose WNBA-record string of 100-point games ended at six. Aliyah Boston added 21 points and 12 rebounds while Clark had 20 points and eight assists but also committed eight turnovers.
The Sky erupted for 34 points in the fourth quarter to beat the visiting Los Angeles Sparks 95-88 on Wednesday night. Natasha Cloud, Kamilla Cardoso and Jacy Sheldon scored 15 points apiece, with Cardoso adding seven rebounds and Cloud dishing out nine assists. Elizabeth Williams scored 14 points off the bench as well for Chicago.
Mitchell averages 24.1 points for the Fever, with Clark getting 21.5 points and 8.0 assists per game and Boston putting up 17.0 points and 8.4 rebounds a night. With leading scorer Sydney Taylor out with a groin injury, Cardoso comes in averaging 14.4 points and 8.5 rebounds. Azura Stevens scores 11.6 points per game, and Courtney Vandersloot hands out 4.9 assists per outing.
